Are you looking for career qualifications? Southern Tasmanian Divers has partnering agreements with a number of RTO’s. This enables us to deliver courses that would usually be difficult to access in Tasmania. Some of the programs we offer are:
- Certificate IV in Business (Dive Supervisor)
- Certificate III in Outdoor Recreation (Dive Master)
- Certificate III in Aquaculture
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
We have also tailored programs for Industry that meet the requirements of todays Workplace Health and Safety Laws:
- Aquaculture Diver (his is issued as a statement of attainment, not a full Certificate)
- Wild Harvest Diver (this is issued as a statement of attainment, not a full Certificate)
- Research Diver (this is issued as a statement of attainment, not a full Certificate)

Certificate IV in Business (Dive Supervisor)
The Certificate IV in Business (BSB402015) is a nationally-recognised qualification. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others. This program is focused on the role of the Occupational Dive Supervisor in the workplace and ensures compliance with the WHS regulatory requirements (Section 4.8 – Diving Work), AS/NZS 2299.1:2015 and AS 2815.5 Training and certification of occupational divers. Part 5: Dive supervisor.
Certificate III in Outdoor Recreation
The Certificate III in Outdoor Recreation (SIS30410) provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in guiding outdoor recreation activities in a controlled environment. It requires technical knowledge of the outdoor recreation activity to be transferred to allow individuals to safely participate in the outdoor activity. It does not provide the skills and knowledge to impart the required level of technical knowledge and expertise to allow participants to independently undertake outdoor recreation activities. The main units of the course delivered by Southern Tasmanian Divers will focus on the SCUBA diving industry. Progression to Certificate 4 and Diploma level courses is available.
Wild Harvest Diver
Made up of units from the Seafood Industry Training package, this course is aimed at divers who want to enter wild harvest fisheries. Encompassing all the requirements of the WH & S legislative requirements for undertaking diving in the workplace for todays commercial fishery divers.
For those wanting an entry level qualification that complies with the rigorous Australian Standard for Scientific Diving (AS/NZS 2299.2), this course is structured around the training standards that are required to be met. As well as contemporary diving techniques used in research diving, it focuses on developing a divers research and underwater data collection skills.
