Respond Right courses provide you with the skills and knowledge to ‘Respond Right’ in an emergency situation at home, at play and at work.

The courses offered under Respond Right have been designed in consultation with medical, industry, recreational, sporting and business experts to ensure the most up to date information and training methods are used. These courses cover from basic to advanced First Aid, including emergency response, CPR, Oxygen and AED. These courses are vital to many industries and careers, and are important skills to learn for day-to-day life.

For those applicants after Marine First Aid or Diving First Aid, we offer tailored training to suit real life scenarios. Our trainers will draw on many decades of onshore and offshore maritime and diving experience.


Training Courses


HLTAID001 – Perform CPR

This entry level course covers the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as per the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. Our fun and flexible delivery combines self-paced online theory and face to face practical session, which allows you flexibility in your learning. Learn the essential skills you may require to provide a first aid response at work, playing sport or to a family member in need.

HLTAID002 – Provide basic emergency life support

This short course provides you with the skills and knowledge to help you recognise and Respond Right to life-threatening emergencies at home, with your children, friends and in your community, using basic life support. This course incorporates content from the government approved unit HLTAID 001 – Perform CPR. This short course takes less than 6 hours and requires no previous first aid experience. Upon successful completion you will receive a Statement of Attainment for Provide Basic Emergency Life Support.

HLTAID003 – Provide first aid

As the minimum level for workplace first aid, this course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to help you provide first aid, life support, management of casualties and incident until the arrival of medical or other assistance. Upon successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for – Apply First Aid which incorporates: Perform CPR and Provide Basic Emergency Life Support which complies with current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and Workplace laws.

Training Duration: Flexible delivery includes 1 day practical session after completing home or online study.

Industry requires you to update your skills every 3 years, and every 12 months for CPR.

HLTAID005 – Provide first aid in a remote situation

Your work or recreational activities may take you to remote and or isolated locations away from definitive medical care. If this is the case you should have the skills and knowledge to provide first aid and emergency life support. Self-paced online theory component combined with fun face to face sessions will ensure you can Respond Right in a situation where someone may require first aid assistance and even evacuation. Relax knowing you have the skills to handle the situation and environment you are in, ensure you have the skills to properly plan in the event you or someone else needs assistance.

HLTFAID006 – apply advanced first aid

This unit builds on HLTFAID003 Apply First Aid and includes additional skills and use of a range of additional equipment. This unit is assessed after your achievement of Apply First Aid and incorporates the content of HLTAID007 Apply Advanced Resuscitation Techniques. Upon successful completion you will receive a Statement of Attainment for HLTFAID Apply Advanced First Aid.

Industry requires you to update your skills every 3 years, and every 12 months for CPR.

HLTFAID007 – apply advanced resuscitation techniques

Learning advanced first aid skills has been made easier with Respond Right’s unique, practical based training. In this course, you will learn to provide advanced first aid resuscitation techniques, life support and management of casualty(s), O2 and automated external defibrillation (AED). Upon successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for Advanced Resuscitation Techniques.
